Eric Alderman is a Partner and co-Founder of Rommel & Alderman Consulting based out of Atlanta, GA.

Eric has worked in management consulting for over four years following five years as an Army Military Intelligence Officer. He has demonstrated his skill in leading teams, clients, and engagements while working with clients across multiple industries in previous stints with Deloitte and Alvarez & Marsal, where he held Leadership positions. Specifically, Eric his delivered results in supporting clients in transforming their operating model through the incorporation of digital technologies to improve operational efficiency, business costs, and achieve results in constrained environments.

Eric’s primary focus in consulting has been on large Power and Utilities clients. Eric has witnessed the great transformation potential within the industry as trends toward further electrification present unique opportunities to adapt. Eric has focused on supporting clients in achieving their goals within constrained environments by creating frameworks and solutions designed to unlock enhanced efficiency. These frameworks include demand forecasting, resource and scope allocation, budget and cost per optimization amongst others. Eric connects with Power & Utility stakeholders at all levels of the organization by understanding the unique requirements of the industry and designing solutions that not only improve operations but also the employee experience.

Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Vanderbilt University with a concentration in Science, Technology, and Engineering. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is trained as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Eric is passionate about contributing to the successful transition of military veterans to civilian careers and volunteers his time with multiple veteran service organizations. He is an avid golfer in his free time.

Experience Highlights

  • Managed a project delivery team of 6 – 8 consulting professionals advising on and implementing solutions to transform a large Utility company’s asset inspection program using remote sensing technology with $40MM annual spend.

  • Analyzed operational and financial data and built short and long-term financial forecasting tools to guide a large Utility inspection program’s annual budget requests, control costs throughout operations, and optimize cost pers.

  • Developed and documented an optimized operating model for an asset management program to formalize functions.

  • Designed a roadmap for the implementation of Digital Twin solution at a transportation agency for a major US metropolitan area; briefed stakeholders on the art of the possible and aligned the initial steps for the business to explore while minimizing sunk-cost.

  • Leveraged large data sets (> 300k lines of data) to identify operational trends and inform the business leadership responsible for 250k asset inspections annually of risks, issues, and opportunities relating to the execution of work.

  • Developed courses of action and recommendations for the reward of scope to third-party vendors as part of a large asset inspection program; utilized geospatial and operational performance data to balance total cost and desired schedule with scope volume and managed contracting tools to formally award scope to vendors.

  • Planned and executed the rapid deployment of 4 unmanned aircraft and 30 US Army personnel to enable global operations; transitioned operations and equipment from government to contract ownership four months ahead of schedule.

  • Integrated 100 US Army personnel and over $100MM in equipment into a military organization during an enterprise-wide transformation to new UAS.
