Rommel & Alderman (R&A) is an independent management and technical advisory firm focused on operational improvement across the power and utilities sector. We work at the intersection of business requirements and technology, helping utility leaders translate complex, technology-enabled initiatives into clear strategies, defensible business cases, and actionable plans that drive and scale pre-defined organizational transformations.

Over the past decade, the R&A team has supported utilities in standing up, scaling, and optimizing digital inspection and asset intelligence programs, including some of the largest end-to-end remote sensing-enabled initiatives in the U.S. power sector. Our experience spans the full lifecycle of transformation—from partnering to define clear objectives that move client-designated performance metrics, evaluating and selecting technologies and providers, to designing enabling operating models and facilitating the scaling of programs and capabilities into core operations.

R&A was founded to bring deep industry experience directly to clients in a flexible, execution-oriented model. Our team has led and delivered energy and utilities advisory work across multiple large global consultancies and now operates independently to move faster, stay focused, and align closely with client priorities in our areas of strength. We are hands-on, outcome-driven, and committed to solving tangible operational problems—not producing theoretical recommendations.

  • Mathew Rommel

    Mat is a co-founder and partner at R&A. Mat has a proven track record of supporting executive clients in solving their most pressing issues with unique and novel solutions. He maintains a large network of industry executives, experts, and partners cultivated over 10 years working in the industry which enable him to bring both breadth and depth to solutions. Mat has demonstrated his ability to deliver results and lead teams through leadership positions at three large global consultancies.

  • Eric Alderman

    Eric is a co-founder and partner at R&A. Eric’s experiences in consulting with power and utility clients have enabled him to develop unique perspectives on the industry and understand how businesses can maximize the value of assets the incorporation of digital technology. Eric formerly served as a Military Intelligence officer in the US Army; this experience enabled him to build first class leadership skills while also understanding and communicating the value of technology to critical stakeholder groups.

  • Dan Pariseau

    Dan is a Delivery Lead at R&A. Dan has over a decade of management consulting experience helping global clients develop, implement, and optimize game-changing, technology-enabled solutions. While serving as a Digital Innovation Manager at a top 4 consulting firm, he advised over 25 clients across a range of industries, helping design, build, and deploy technology solutions. He has his MBA from UCLA Anderson, Systems Engineering degree from UVA, and is a Part 107 Certified UAS Pilot.
